Using salt to remove some of the paint when it is wet, to make a snowy background. (Remove the salt when the paint is dry.) Splattering - take a paintbrush with paint in it and hit it against your hand to allow paint to fall from the bristles onto the paper in a splatter style (on wet or dry paper for different effects). You can also spray the splatter after to create a new texture. (beach scene, rocks) Dry Brush - Your brush should be very dry and then just put the tip of the brush into the paint.
